I grew up with Star Wars, and is by far my all-time favourite movie. As a kid R2 was the action figure to have.. so many good memories 🙂
I acquired this R2D2 blueprint of the little fella, and am desperate to know a little more about it.
What do I know about this R2D2 Blueprint?
- I acquired this back in 2015.
- Before me, it was auctioned at world famous toy auction house Vectis: link
- Before that, it was auctioned at Wellers Auctioneers on May 12th, 2012 along with other items: link
- A “tracing paper” type of paper, semi-translucent.
- The R2-D2 outline schematic is printed.
- Then on top, are hand-written notes in German.
- and coloured pencil shading.
What’s written on it?
- The title is: Holographischer Rekorder und Projektor Arm fur Computer-verbindung
- Which roughly translates to: A holographic recorder and projector arm for computer connection
- The remaining German text describes various other components and the materials they are made out of

It’s not b. kanal empfänger. The reading is
6. Kanal
Empfänger
2 Stück
that is 6-channel receiver (2 pcs.) and was common at that time as standard RC equipment. Probably the second one as backup on a different frequency-channel (27MHz or 40MHz) or maybe for two different “pilots” at the controls.
thanks. corrected!
